There are 3 things that are terrible when it comes to gambling:
- Not enough Bonuses (And why not?)
In that order...
Let's talk addiction. We'll talk about the others in future posts - but this one is a nasty one, so let's deal with it first.
The Wager Witch is brewing a mug of coffee to sit down and talk about this one.
If you've been online gaming for as long as The Witch has, the addiction bug has probably slapped you upside the head once in awhile.
Now - there is the "GOTTA PLAY NO MATTER THE COST" addiction, the "OMG I JUST WON, SO I'M GOING TO WIN MORE" addiction, the "JUST ONE MORE SPIN" addiction and the "I'LL CHEAT, STEAL, LOSE THE HOUSE AND CAR, GO TO JAIL" addiction.
The
Gotta Play No Matter the Cost addiction is pretty darn scary for those who get caught in the grips. My advice people - if you find yourself playing every penny on your credit cards is to step away from the computer.
Find something else to do - go for a walk, read a book, wash your dishes, do anything except gamble online. You're not going to win every single time you play. Casinos can't make money if you do. But they also can't make money if you put yourself in debt and can't play any more. If you are finding that the only thing you're thinking about is getting online to gamble - you're forgetting to answer the phone and you've got your jewelry in hock... Turn it off for a week or two and then come back slowly. Or seek professional advice. Think about it my friends... Think hard. This particular type of addiction can go away - but you need to recognize it and stop yourself.
The
OMG I just won and I'm going to win some more addiction usually ends up putting you back down to a zero balance. If you've won a large amount - cash out at least 1/3rd of it if you've met all your wagering requirements. DO NOT ASK FOR A REVERSAL on CASH OUTS - EVER. Consider it money gone. This addiction is short lived -because you run out of funds. But I've never known anyone to win more if they keep playing at high stake bets. It usually fizzles out and runs in a cycle. The Witch's advice is: If you see yourself doing it - stop. Turn off the computer and do something else. Wait until you get the check. And don't let yourself put it ALL back in. Puhlease... Give yourself a treat. Pay your bills ahead of time. Put money down on your kids college. Something... Anything - but putting it all back in.
The
Just one more spin addiction is the downfall of the Wager Witch, so she sympathizes with all you "One More Spinners" out there. It's the golden pot at the end of the rainbow syndrome and yeah baby - just one more spin will find it. NOPE... It won't. The advice of the Witch, who has learned to follow this one is: If the spins aren't hitting after 10 turns - get out of that game. If you don't hit anything in 30 turns at one casino. Get out. Come back later. Games go in cycles and so does winning. If you're on a down cycle - get your butt out doing something else and come back when the pot is shining more brightly. DO NOT KEEP DEPOSITING thinking that one more spin will win it for you.
Now let's talk the
Dark and Deadly side of Gambling Addiction.
The one where Gambler's Anon is need desperately. The Witch has heard some pretty damn scary stories out there about people who lost their homes - lost their loved ones... Because they couldn't stop.
If you or someone you know is getting like that or is like that the Wager Witch begs you to take a moment and find the nearest Gambler's Anon place.
Talk to someone before it's too late. A close gaming friend found themselves over 100,000.00 in debt and decided to try and kill themselves.
This is a nasty addiction and people who are that addicted need to get professional help. The Wager Witch cannot stress this enough.
If you're at that point - where nothing but gambling matters. You need to talk to a professional or get ahold of someone from Gambler's Anon. NOW... Not after your next spin. NOW. There are diseases that can cause this, and when the downward spiral hits, some of these people never recover.
It's sad, and it's horrible and the Wager Witch sends her love out to those who have been in the clutches of this type of addiction. This Witch can't give any advice on how to cure it or how to fix your finances if you've become that deeply involved - but this Witch can certainly send her heart out to those who have been there or have friends or loved ones who can't stop themselves.
Bless you and may you find that which you need without gambling.
So there... You have it. Not only the good side of gambling but also the dark sides.
The Wager Witch is here with advice to help you out on the right casinos for you! But she doesn't want you walking in blindly - so play well, be healthy and play smart!
